The anaesthesia associate will: Assess the patient's fitness for surgery on the day of surgery and obtain informed consent for anaesthesia; Discuss the anaesthetic plan with the Supervising Consultant; Induce anaesthesia (independently if signed off as competent). Once you start your specialty training as an anaesthetist employed by the NHS, you can expect to earn a salary of at least £40,257, which can increase to between £84,559 and £114,003 as a consultant. You’ll become part of our first cohort of Trainee Anaesthesia Associates studying for a postgraduate diploma.
